Fake police encounters will not be tolerated: CCPO
Staff Report
LAHORE: Capital City Police Officer (CCPO), Ahmad Raza Tahir, said that fake police encounters will not be tolerated and police officials involved in committing the heinous deed of taking innocent lives will have to face full force of the law.
He said that the citizens must not create an erroneous impression of police being anti-people, due to the actions of one individual or collective action by a number of police officials, instead, a powerful impression should be created that police force is always ready to sacrifice their own lives in order to ensure protection of life and property of the masses.
The CCPO said this while talking to citizens belonging to various walks of life, on Tuesday, at the Capital City Police Headquarters.
Tahir said that complete and willing cooperation from the masses is essential to rid the city from the scourge of crime, as success of police force cannot even be imagined without full public support.
The CCPO also pointed out that, along with strong teamwork, close coordination and cooperation between police, people and media was highly essential. He called upon all segments of society to extend their full cooperation and solidarity to the law-enforcing agencies in order to bring the law and order situation in the city under control.
Tahir informed the citizens that a well-coordinated and comprehensive strategy had been adopted to bring crime rate in the city under control, whereas professional training of police is being further enhanced in order to make policing even more effective.
He said that the Lahore Police is utilising latest technology in order to unearth crimes, which had borne positive results.
