Police Officers / Officials who sacrificed their valuable lives for the security of the people are not only the hero of the Police Department but they are the heroes of the nation.
This was stated by the Inspector General of Police Punjab, Mohammad Habib-ur-Rahman while addressing to the participants of the head money distribution ceremony held at PHQ, here today. Aslam Tareen, AddI. IGP/Investigation, Punjab, and Fiaz Ahmad, PSO to IGP were also present on the occasion.
IGP said that there is no room for cowards, inefficient and non professionals in the Department. He stressed upon the Officers/Officials that they should keep continuous efforts for busting and arresting the hardened criminals and proclaimed offenders.
Earlier, SSP Investigation, Punjab, Akhtar Umer Hayat Lalika told the IGP that since 2007, Investigation Branch Punjab has started this practice of head money distribution. He further told that Government of Punjab has fixed Rs.17 crore, 66 lac, 50 thousand reward for arresting 576 POs. Among them, Police Officials arrested and busted 377 POs and for which Rs.11 crore 16 lac 50 thousand cash reward was fixed. Out of this, Rs.6 crore 78 lac 50 thousand has been distributed among the Police Officers / Officials so for.
Today IGP has distributed Rs. 32 lac among 70 officers and informers for killing / busting 10 hardened POs. The officers / officials who got the cash reward and certificates belong to Districts Sialkot (6), Gujrat(8), T.T. Singh (18), Sahiwal (5), Gujranwala(11), Bahawalnagar (4), Bahwalpur (7), and Kasur (12).
