Drive against fireworks ordered
LAHORE: CAPITAL City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore Ahmad Raza Tahir has ordered launch of vigorous campaign against manufactures of fireworks or persons indulged in its sale and purchase on the sacred occasion of ‘Shab-e-barat’.
The CCPO has also directed for taking strict action against the elements indulged in aerial firing for which special teams have been formed. The CCPO directed the DIG Operations, Divisional SPs, Supervisory police officers and SHOs to take prompt action against the sellers of fireworks by raiding their godowns and seizing their illegal goods.
He warned that, in case any incident of firework or aerial firing took place, the concerned SHO would face departmental action while SPOs would be held accountable whereas all concerned SPs would be responsible for ensuring comprehensive implementation of these orders.
