10,000 cops to cope with security needs

LAHORE: More than 10,000 police officials will be deployed in the city on Independence Day to provide security to functions and rallies.
 
Capital City Police Officer Lahore (CCPO),Capt Amin Vians said that security and traffic arrangements were reviewed in detail for Independence Day. He said Lahore police would be on red alert,while foolproof security plan had already been finalised for the Day. He directed high police officials to ensure strict security arrangements for the public meetings and rallies and take stern action against those taking the law into their hands or indulge in hooliganism. The CCPO directed that hawkish vigilance be maintained at bus and wagon stands, hotels as well as entry and exit points of the city. Meanwhile, CTO Lahore Tayyab Hafeez Cheema said Lahore Traffic Police have also finalized special arrangements for smooth flow of traffic in the provincial capital on Independence Day. He said that all the directions have been passed on to all circle incharges in this regard.
