Six suspects in triple murder case held

GUJRAT: Police claimed on Monday to have arrested six suspects wanted in a triple murder case. Addressing a news conference, District Police Officer Rai Ijaz Ahmad said Rehmania police had arrested six outlaws, namely Muhammad Rashid, Ali Raza, Muhammad Younas, Ali Hasan, Rameez Younas and Rukhsar Yousaf, all belonging to Pandi Latty village for allegedly killing three people near Service Mor along GT Road over an enmity around a month back.

The rivalry of Khan Group and Siddique Group of Pindi Latty started five years back and it had claimed at least 11 lives from both the groups, the DPO said, adding that weapons and three motorbikes had also been recovered from the suspects.

In another move, the Jalalpur Jattan police arrested the suspect involved in a murder of a businessman, Nadeem Mir, who was shot dead around a week back.

Police said the suspect, Abdul Rehman of Chak Kamala village, had been arrested after the murder mystery was solved. The name of the suspect has also been added to the case already registered against the unidentified people.

In yet another move, three suspects, wanted in murder of five people near Dherkay village along GT Road Bypass in 2011, have been arrested by the Sadar police.

The suspects belong to the Warraichanwala village. They had allegedly killed five men of their rival group when they were returning to Gujrat from Gujranwala.
