Police station built with public funds

MAILSI-The Mailsi Police have set a unique example of public-police cooperation by building Mailsi City Police Station purely through contributions made by people of the area.

Strenuous efforts are being made to improve the police public image by eradicating crime and providing justice to the masses. Street crime has become a menace and an effective mechanism has been evolved to purge the area of crime.

Mailsi DSP Malik Dawood stated this while speaking at “Meet The Press” programme of Mailsi Press Club (Reg) here the other day.
DSP Malik Dawood recalled that when he assumed his office here in Mailsi there was a lot of cases regarding motorbike and cell phones snatching while theft, robberies, street crime had made the life of the people miserable. “We sat down, dwelled over the situation and chalked out a plan to control the situation and provide relief to the public who were annoyed at the alarming surge in the crime,” he pointed out, adding that the police launched a vigorous crackdown on the criminals; busted gangs of motorcycle lifters and snatchers and now the situation was quit under control.

He mentioned that the Mailsi City Police has set a example of public police cooperation by constructing building for the City Police through funds contributed by the people.

The City Police Station has been built over an area nine kanal of land at a cost of Rs6.5 million out of which Rs5.1 million was contributed by the people in a record time of six to seven months,” the DSP elaborated, adding that it was a great achievement as on one hand the police got its own building while on the other it exhibited the warmth of people love. The DSP said that it was an unparallel and unique example as no such precedent was available across the country.

Malik Dawood also argued that he had taken this step with the cooperation of Vehari DPO Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi and Multan RPO Mubarak Ali Athar. He also revealed that the new building would be inaugurated on October 13 under the chair DPO Ali Nasir Rizvi while RPO Mubarak Ali Athar would be the chief guest at the ceremony.

About law and order, the DSP said that the situation was quite satisfactory and pledged to utilise all available resources to protect the public life and property. He also vowed that no leniency would be exhibited towards criminals and stern action would be taken without any fear and pressure. The police are duty bound to protect public and it would spare no effort to comp up to the public expectations.

DSP Malik Dawood also warned the negligent and corrupt police officials, saying that there was no room for corrupt and negligent officials in the department.

Mailsi Press Club President Syed Naveedul Hassan Qutbi, Sana Ullah Qureshi, Haji Abdul Kareem, Abdul Shakoor Qaiser, Javaid Aziz, Aslam Khan Yousafzai, Yousaf Chohan, Yousaf Kamran, Sarfaraz Khan Gori, Ch Amir Mehmood, Tahir Sahoo, Maher Ameen, Qari Khalid Mehmood, Jahanzaib Khan, Waseem Toor, Abdul Khaliq Papu, Qaiser Mumtaz, Malik Shokat Hussain and others were also present on the occasion.
