LAHORE: Police claimed on Tuesday to have arrested four people for allegedly raping and then killing a minor boy.
A police spokesperson said a team of Civil Lines division was constituted to arrest the culprits who raped and murdered 13-year-old Ali Raza of Baghbanpura about a year ago.
The victim’s body was found in fields near Ring Road and the postmortem examination revealed that the boy was sexually assaulted before being killed.
He said the police team took Umair Javaid into custody over suspicion who confessed to the crime during interrogation and also revealed the names of his three accomplices -- Saif Ahmed, Aamir and Bilal.
He told the investigators that they picked Ali Raza from his home on the pretext of attending a party. Later, they drugged the boy and assaulted him.
The suspects took Raza to a deserted place on Ring Road by a motorcycle rickshaw when his condition deteriorated and threw him in the fields from where his body was later recovered, the police said.
