Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Khan Baig stated this while presiding over a meeting related to the Metro-Bus system at the Central Police Office today.
Special police would be deployed on all the 27 routes of the Metro-Bus.
The police contingents including traffic officials would also be deployed on both sides of the Metro-Bus routes to ensure security and smooth flow of traffic from Shahdara station to the Gajju Matta station. Two policemen would also patrol on the route from one station to the other station on motorcycles.
The IGP further said that the Punjab police would perform security duties for the Metro-Bus system until the government establishes a separate administrative force for this project.
