Gujranwala: City police claimed on Wednesday to have arrested about a dozen members of two gangs of robbers during a crackdown on criminals and seized looted goods and arms from their possession.
Talking to journalists at the Model Town police station, SP City Liaquat Malik said the Jambo gang was arrested by Baghbanpura police while the Boona gang by Dhulley police.
He said the police seized a huge quantity of cell phones, TV sets, sophisticated weapons, five motorcycles, 22 batteries worth Rs300,000 and Rs35,000 in cash from them.
He announced commendation certificates for Baghbanpura SHO Ibrar Shah and Dhulley SHO Akhtar Mahmood and their team members.
