42 policemen complete computer training
Lahore, May 4: The first batch of 42 policemen from 21 police stations of Lahore on Wednesday completed their training in connection with the Police Record and Office Management Information System (PROMIS).
According to a handout, the ongoing training programme is about registration of online FIR and the other information at police station level.
The programme’s first phase envisaging training of 152 Jawans form 76 police stations of Lahore would be completed by June 2011. Two Jawans form each of the 76 police stations would participate in the training.
A great help regarding finances has been provided by Addl. IG Welfare and Finance Aftab Sultan to implement the project in Lahore district, while it is being supervised by Addl. Director (computers), Shaheen Khalid.
The project, started in five police stations each of Multan, Rawalpindi and Lahore and further extended to 27 police stations of Sargodha, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Okara, Gujranwala and Jehlum, the handout said.
