Kidnappers held, child seized
SIALKOT, May 3: Police on Tuesday seized a minor boy and arrested his six ‘kidnapers’ two weeks after his abduction.
Sialkot District Police Officer Bilal Siddique Kamiyana told reporters that Usman, Nadeem, Sagheer, Saqib and their two unidentified accomplices allegedly kidnapped Muhammad Nawaz’s five-year old son Majid Ali from outside his house in Kakey Chak village near Begowala in Sambrial tehsil on April 19.
They later demanded Rs2 million for Ali’s release. Ali’s family struck a deal with the kidnappers and paid them Rs200,000, but they did not release the child.
Police traced the criminals using their cell phone data, raided their hideout in Kakeywala village near Begowala, seized Ali and arrested his kidnappers.
Police also seized Rs 200,000 million, which Ali’s family had earlier paid for his release.
