Security stood high alert through out the province after occurring Abot abad incident yesterday

In order to deal with any expected unpleasant situation, security stood high alert through out the province on the directive of Inspector General of Police, Javed Iqbal after occurring Abot abad incident yesterday.  

This was disclosed by Addl. IG operations Rafiq Hasan while talking to media on behalf of IGP at PHQ, Lahore today.

Explaining the details regarding the security measures being taken by the Punjab police the Addl. IG told that on intelligence reports regarding security threats to VVIPs, foreigners and minorities strict security measures have been adopted. He further told that the working conditions of walk through gates, CCTV cameras and metal detectors were rechecked. Side by side, security officials on various duties have been directed to ensure the consecutive patrolling.

Addl. IG Opr further told that the banned organizations were being regularly monitored by concerned branches of the police department. In this connection Special branch and Counter Terrorism Department have also been directed to organize the intelligence sharing system. To provide security to every citizen of the province without any discrimination, all precautionary steps have been finalized, concluded by Addl. IG.
