For the implementation on the decision to change the Police Uniform, all RPOs, DPOs and Sectional Heads of the Police Department should furnish their recommendations/opinions of the force in this regard in the next RPO Conference.
This was directed by Inspector General of Police, Punjab, Muhammad Habib-ur-Rehman, while addressing the participants of RPO Conference held at PHQ, Lahore here today. CCPO, Lahore, all RPOs of Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Bahawalpur, D.G. Khan and Multan including all DPOs of the province attended the conference.
It was decided in the meeting that weekly off for the police employees will be continued and all senior officers will ensure to give one weekly off before finalizing the duty roaster of their subordinates. This decision will be helpful to improve the overall performance of the police employees, added the IGP.
In the meeting, it was also decided that the old name of CPO will be restored instead of PHQ.
IGP also told that to handle all pending cases of promotions of various police officers, a formal request has been moved to High Court to sought its guidance to settle the issue.
A proposal for the transfer of traffic wardens from one district to other was reviewed in detail.
The field Police Officers briefed the IGP that kidnapping for ransom incidents have been decreased by 99% in the province. It was also told in the meeting that during the last one month, about 50 top twenty POs from various districts have been arrested whereas 1972 most wanted POs involved in heinous crimes like Dacoity, Robbery, Dacoity with Murder, Motor Vehicle Snatching/Lifting and Cattle Lifting were arrested so far.
IGP, Punjab directed the Regional Police Officers to keep consecutive monitoring of Maddaris, Banned Organizations and Subversive elements who are involved in sectarianism.
It was also decided in the meeting that two days refresher courses for the DPOs will be conducted including Crime Scene Investigation, Media Management, Time Management, Crisis Management, Stress Management, Community Policing and Technology led Policing. The courses will start from 09 April and will continue to 24 April, 2012.
