It was informed in a meeting presided over by Inspector General of Police Punjab Tariq Saleem Dogar at Central Police Office here today. Amongst others the meeting was also attended by high ranking police officers. The meeting elaboratedly reviewed the pace of implementation on the special operation being carried out, under the instructions of Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, against the outlaws.
The meeting was told that apart from the apprehension of 67794 proclaimed offenders, as many as 34345 court absconders have also been netted in the operation. The participants of the meeting, while expressing their satisfaction over the operation against the hardened criminals at such a large scale, emphasized the need of taking further effective measures in this regard.
While addressing the meeting, the IG Punjab Tariq Saleem urged the District Police Officers for ensuring the arrangements of regular police patrolling as well as Thekri Pehra in rural areas. He maintained that a vigil eye be kept on the activities of outlaws with the cooperation of local respectable and on pointation, prompt action be taken against them, so that the society could be purged of criminal / terrorist elements. The IG appreciated the over all performance of police force in connection with operation against notorious proclaimed offenders in the province.
