Arresting POs is challenge for police: CCPO

LAHORE: Capital City Police Officer (CCPO), Ahmad Raza Tahir, has said that arresting proclaimed offenders is a challenge for Lahore Police, which the police officers and officials should try countering in an effective manner.
CCPO directed police officers to bring about a positive and result-oriented transformation in thana culture so that an atmosphere of mutual trust is created among the people and police authorities.
In order to control crime in the city and in view of vision given by Punjab IG pertaining to the motto of “Safe Punjab”, a special task was assigned by CCPO to DIG (Investigation) Ali Amir Malik and SSP (Investigation) Abdul Razzaq Cheema aimed at arresting proclaimed offenders and persons involved in other heinous crimes in the city.
On the directive of the CCPO, the investigation police arrested 71 culprits belonging to 22 different criminal gangs and recovered stolen property worth Rs 30.5 million during the last 15 days of the month of May.
