RAWALPINDI:
A man has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a 12 -year-old girl within the jurisdiction of Dhamial Police Station in Rawalpindi. The victim, a 6th-grade student, has been shifted to the hospital for medical treatment and examination.
The police registered a complaint on a plea of the victim’s uncle. The accused allegedly enticed the minor to his house and sexually assaulted her. Following the complaint of the victim’s relative, a high contingent of police reached Pir Mehr Ali Shah Town and collected key evidence from the site of the incident.
The police said that the victim was shifted to District Head Quarters Hospital for treatment while a case has also been registered against the accused. They said the accused will be presented before a court for obtaining his DNA. The accused will be shifted to Lahore for forensic examination, they added. Meanwhile, the police have made security arrangements for the safety of the victim and her family.
